My Wier differential clutch pack destroyed on hill climb
Hello everyone,
I installed the 12 clutch Weir pack and I destroyed it on the first race, I had Nitto semi slicks... My mechanic wasn't so enthusiastic about the clutch pack from the beginning, he said he never saw smooth looking clutches and doesn't expect them to grip to start with, honestly on the hill climb the car was rubbish, since I have an ACD and it's not even working... So I drove it without the ACD but with an ACD transfer case.
The Weir clutch pack was on the rear differential obviously and not inside the transfer case.
What could be the reason? How do I avoid this later? And what should I upgrade too?
You're not the only person to have issues with Wier stuff. I don't know of any overseas drivetrain builders but we have a handful of very evo knowledgeable companies in the states. Team Rip Engineering stuff has had great success over the past years.
