Evo 3 maybe 2 LHD conversion

Hi guys I’m planning to get my first evo and I think it will be 2 or 3.
I have a questions about it.

Q1. I live in Commiefornia and I’m gonna import evo 2 or 3. Will there be any problem in registration and anything?

Q2. How much will it cost to convert RHD to LHD?
I searched and I think I can use mirage’s interior.
Also, I want someone to do the conversion.
What will be the cost?

Thank you.

Ian

Import through someone who can handle all the paperwork for you.

Why would you convert to LHD?

Aren’t RHD cars uncomfortable to drive in the US?

RHD sucks, but it doesn't suck as bad as the LHD conversion.

You'll need a LHD firewall, and there aren't many good Summit/Colt/whatevers out there anymore. You have to pull the engine/trans, remove just about everything in the engine bay and interior, and then split the unibody to shove the new firewall in. Don't forget to paint it inside and out!
LHD rack? No good ones available that I know of. The Summit/Colt/whatever rack is slow. Your best bet would be a LHD rack from a German market Evo 5 or 6. The RS rack is even quicker. Extremely rare, they were $1,000 + shipping from overseas last time I checked.
You miiiight need to swap to the Summit/Colt/whatever subframe to make this work. This messes with the suspension geometry, as the Evo II/III subframe has a wider front track.
You'll need to hack up a wiring harness to make it work.
You'll have to convert all the brake lines, accelerator, clutch, steering, wiper setup to work on the other side of the car.
Don't forget a LHD dash, which I believe is a different color that the Evo interior.

At minimum, you'll need a damn good parts car, a few thousand dollars, and a lot of time to get it done.

Edit: if someone else is doing the job, expect a bill over $5,000.

Just reverse what the mirage guys do to convert to RHD. I have a black dash from a 95 mirage, I also have a 95 mirage I was going to swap to evo 3. Most that do mirage to evo 3 have a build thread on mirage performance forum and you can see what’s the same .
