evo 6 alternator help URGENT
evo 6 alternator help URGENT
so i had a 16V one wire alternator on my Evo which is playing up and its about to go on the dyno so the dyno operator is going to bang the standard one on there to try get the tune done.
problem is i have gutted the car and completely rewired it so no factory alternator wiring is there. i have attached the factory wiring diagram
so there is 4 wires to the alternator it looks to me that i just need 12V on pins 2 and 3. pin 4 looks to get a 5V supply? and pin 1 gets connected to a PWM output to switch to ground presumably to control the voltage.
so my questions are, is this correct? and for the purpose of a dyno session can i just connect pin 1 direct to ground, i assume this will cause the alternator to make max voltage but given the 3 fuel pumps (might need 4 on 12V over 16V) and the CDI and fans i expect it to drop the voltage a little anyway.
thoughts??

Why is it about to go on the dyno if you're having problems with the alternator?
Reschedule your tune so your tuner doesn't have to deal with some jerry-rigged nonsense while trying to keep your motor from exploding.
There is absolutely no sense in "cheating it" just to get it tuned, it won't benefit you in any way.
I swear you remind me of this guy that brought his RB25 s14 in for me to tune with bags of mulch instead of front seats. "Oh I don't got seats yet man, i just need it tuned". Not trying to come off as a dick, but do yourself and your tuner a favor and don't try to temporary ghetto-rig something just to get it to work.
