Evo IV transfer removal help
Hi everyone,
Looking for some help, after sound grinding noises on my car I decided to take a look at the transfer case as I know the previous owner had some issues and well I'm trying to remove it but having some issues. Already did this:
- Removed the driveshaft
- Removed the shaft with the sliding hammer
- Removed all bolts holding the transfer to the tranny
- Loose it as much as I can
But still can take it completely apart, from all the threads I have seen I think I'm not missing anything but yet had no luck. Not sure if a broken piece is not letting me take it completely apart but was hoping anyone could give me some hints on what to do next.
Thanks for any help.

Thank you, and yes, already did that but still looks like it is stuck in there, everything seems to be loose but the center piece attach to the gearbox still, even looks like the other axle is holding it in place so not sure if I'm missing something or something got broken inside that is not allowing me to pull it over, trying to get a 41 wrench to take que whole transfer apart
I have seen information saying you need to remove the shaft from both sides, do you happen to know, in this case, since you are saying to remove it from the transmission side, is it needed to have the other one in place or can I remove both?
I guess I can put it back from the transfer side and then remove the one on the transmission side, will this be the best way to do it?
