Ticking Noise From Transmission (Not Lifter Tick)
I got a bit of a mystery with a tick I hear coming from the transmission side. When I initially start the car wether it’s the first start of the day or only starting up the car again after sitting for a few minutes after getting gas I hear what sounds like a rattle coming from the transmission side of things. If I just turn the key and start turning over the engine then stop before it actually starts I can hear the rattle even after the starter has stopped engaging with the flywheel. With the car running anytime I’m above 2000 rpm I can hear the rattling/ticking noise. Once the rpms drop below 2000 I don’t get anymore abnormal noises. It doesn’t matter if I’m in gear driving the car or sitting in neutral in my driveway the noise is there above 2000 rpm. The noise isn’t coming from the engine. I can feel the rattling/ticking through the transmission case. The car does have an aftermarket clutch masters fx400 clutch with the clutch masters lightweight steel flywheel. At first I thought it was the starter not disengaging from the flywheel after the car starts but I don’t think that’s the problem anymore. The car doesn’t drive any differently. The clutch pedal feels fine and power through all the gears feels the same as always. If anyone has run into something similar or knows what it could be please let me know.
