To my knowledge there's a company who makes a 12-1 trigger that works with balance shafts (ew) and I thought I remember seeing an 18-1 as well from someone but that may have been for a different 4G.

My balance shafts are staying in until the engine comes out for the stroker. So a 12 tooth is not going to happen for now. But if someone does make one that plays nice with the balance shafts, then I would be interested. If not, I am sticking to my 60-2 external wheel idea.

So to sum up the 12 tooth is a good idea with an aftermarket ecu (like the link) on a high performance built motor?

Yes. There is no reason not to.

You won't need to modify the crank trigger but the cam trigger may need to be modified. Consult your tuner for guidance.

evo 8 4/2 inverted trigger prob

Had anyone experienced any problems with Evo 8 2003's trigger system (Mitsubishi inverted 4/2) after they changed their stock coils to sequential?
After I changed the coils to ign1a sequential coils, the engine starts and runs smoothly until I push the gas pedal, when I release the pedal, and rpm comes down, the engine dies, and the ECU produces trigger too late or some other trigger errors.
I checked the timing marks and ECU trigger offset degree and it was accurate. I also tried different polarities for trigger and home inputs, but I just had a spark in cyl1 when the trigger input polarity was falling, and the home was rising.
My ECU also allows me to change the threshold voltages for both trigger and home, but I don't know how it works.
LMK if you can help me, I can send my logs.
