Power loss/no boost

Hey, I was driving my evo 8 yesterday and all of a sudden something happened, I guess you would have to expirence to understand.
It is not normal what so ever.
It is like struggling to make boost.
I have never had a problem like this before.
I have cheked for a boost leak but i dont think this is the issue I have had one before and this is not like that.
Even with a boost leak the car will still make boost just not near as much.
This is almost as if the car was not turbo.

Prior to this, it had been boosting out in high revs in 4th/5th gear ( just had a gearbox rebuild)

Has anyone had this issue before or know what it could be?

Thanks

Pull off your intake and check your shaft play.

Wastegate arm is likely jammed open or the arm fell off.

I have the same problem

I have the same problem with my evo 8. At about 4K rpm the power curve goes flat. Also, there are two additional symptoms; there is a ticking sound coming from the engine, and; the boost gauge doesn't work (which may be a separate issue). I'm not really good with fixing engines so can anyone recommend an honest shop that knows how to work on these engines in the Los Angeles area?

Thanks

If I was you, I would make the trip out to Road Race Engineering in Santa Fe Springs.
