going with a new clutch and just dynoed 534lb/ft on a 2.3L/FP Black.

I hate the quartermaster race twin in it now. Can an exedy twin HD hold the torque? Was thinking maybe a triple SD would be ok and better drivability? Any advice appreciated, thanks!

IIRC, the Exedy twin is sprung but the triple is unsprung. Unsprung isn't great for the transmission long-term.

I'd stick with the HD twin, unless you're going to be launching it all the time.

i think i'm borderline on the trq for the exedy twin HD, I probably will launch it a decent bit. I wonder if anyone ever gets the SD triple, seems like everyone gets the HD of either type but seems like a triple SD is fine for the torque. It's a little hard to search for on the forums. thanks for all your input. I'll keep that in mind about the trans.

If you don't like your quartermaster twin you wont like the triple. Either version its touchy. I have used both sd and hd in my triple and they both grab pretty hard for what use to be a dd. I am running the hd in my current setup

What don't you like about the QM? Did you get the full "race" version or did you get the hybrid(race/street)

it's the race spec, i just have a terrible time in first gear with it, just constant bucking. I'm not the best driver but still. Slipping it in 2nd to start isn't much fun

Gotcha. Take a look at the ACT twin also. A few people said it was almost a stock feel.

i have triple SD from day one. it drives great and i do a lot of launching. Car is nothing special 407/430 but the plan is to also keep it for my next build (2.2L, g30-770)

The ACT twin feels amazing like stock.

I have 2 evos, one with the ACT twin and the other with an Exedy twin. I love the ACT for drive-ability, way nicer. No clutch chatter, no bucking, light pedal.

However, both my evo's are only around 400 awtq.

on paper it sounds like the act twins are good for 700 and 875 depending on which one you get and both have street discs

still researching

thanks for all the input again
