Best evo/4g63 machine shop?
Best evo/4g63 machine shop?
As luck would have it my missing motor turned up and now the machinist that AG uses has passed away.... Any other recommendations in the florida area? Really dont want to ship it around again as it just came in from the PNW.
Call Real Street or Titan Motorsports, If you’re stuck on staying in FLA.
There’s AR Fabrications in VA who honestly is amoung the best engine block machine shops in the US and relied upon by 1000’s of customers across a multitude of platforms
Howard is @enginemalitia on IG, site is www.arfabrication.com, or you call the shop at 540-722-3967. You will not be disappointed in their attention to detail, Customer Service, and professionalism.
As for cyl head work there is no shop better than Headgames in NJ again As relied upon by thousands of customers world wide.
BR’s machine shop is also pretty unbeatable for a 4G63. Though I can’t speak to-if they provide just Block/Head machining work to customers or not.

Mazworx is in Sanford north of Orlando plus whoever Real Street Performance uses
Don't get hung up on looking for a "4G63 specific machine shop" there's nothing special about how these motors are built...instead try to find somewhere local that has good attention to detail and decent turnaround (so your motor doesn't sit in a pile with 10 other blocks that were shipped in for a few months before it's even touched). If a machine shop can build a 1000hp LS or 4.6 Ford they can build a decent Evo motor imo. Plus it saves on shipping when you can throw it in the trunk of your car and drop it off.

When I looked for a good machine shop, I would just call up and say I'm dropping in to talk about a build. If they are interested there will be someone there and will be able to talk about JDM and forged builds. You soon get a feel for someone reliable and their attention to detail. I read a lot here first so I could talk about balancer deletes and piston to wall clearances on CP pistons etc. Good places will have facebook pages you can look up with all their builds. I would take a half a dozen beers over and go through the build sheet before I even took my motor to them, then tweaked it further over a couple of weeks. When the build sheet was right, I pulled my motor and dropped it in.
