Bolt onmods to EVO
Bolt onmods to EVO
As of now Im not the owner of an EVO yet. I currently have a mid 13 second all motor 1995 Civic Ex sedan. My question is when I do get my EVO what can I do to get say 75 to100 more horses WITHOUT frying the clutch AND/OR voiding my warranty?
Thanks,
Patrick

hate to tell you this but most likely NOTHING... some of the guys here are having trouble with the clutch as is... its more along the lines of if you get one with a good clutch or not.... I personally think its all chance on that one...

I would say that from my experience, a few power add-ons may actually prolong the life your clutch, if you drive the car hard...
When I was stock, a good launch required a 5500 RPM clutch slip, and often resulted in burning the clutch enough to where I could smell it.
Now with a Vishnu Stage 1+ giving me about 100 WHP over stock, I can launch hard with a 4000 RPM clutch slip. The car shoots out of the hole a lot faster, and the clutch is fully engaged in a very short time. Since doing the power upgrades, I've only smelled the clutch once in over two dozen hard launches, and that was a mistake on my part -- I revved to about 6000 RPM instead of 4000.
