Tomei

Anybody have any experience with Tomei parts or crate motors?

Just wondering what their reputation was and whether they truly made quality parts... which is probably the case since Xtreme uses their cranks, psitons, rods, valves etc on their Xtreme VII S and SC and Xtreme VIII.

Just wondering what the word on the street was.

of course tomei is high quality. the reason most people don't have it is b/c they are satisfied with HKS, and GReddy (cheaper, still good quality, and more well-known in US). You should pm TomeiEvo7 and ask him about his car. (Here's his profile: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/me...poster&t=73312 ). Ask him how he likes tomei

Thanks man. Just PM'd him. Thinking about getting one of their Genesis crate motors as the basis for modding a GSR VIII after I get my MR.

Anyone think that this is a ridiculous waste of money or a sound investment?

... The motor that is, not the car for being just a toy... which is ridiculous, but I've got a disease and need a car I can drive daily. So why not two Evos?
