Mmine does the same thing. when it's in neutral it like taps if you give it gas slowly with the clutch out but is gone when the clutch is pushed in. I'm thinking about replacing my clutch at 20k, I have 19k now.

My guess without actually hearing it it you're hearing harmonic vibrations from the engine transfered through the gearbox...completely normal.

As a matter of interest, what clutch are you running?

I say its abnormal Matt, and I think its time they buy an Exedy clutch, since I had the Twin metallic, and now the triple carbon (exedy of course) I can reccomend them for sure! they wont listen to you as much as me Matt, as I DONT work there, you do. You might be a little bias.

On a side note, what Matt usually says is right on the money, but still take the advice from a NON-PAID person who loves their product, LIKE ME!!!!

Its the throw-out bearing. They all do it once they start to wear a bit. The reason you cant hear it with the clutch in is because it puts pressure on it and takes out any slop.

Its nothing to worry about, mine did it on the stock clutch after about 5k miles and the same thing with the exedy twin thats in it now.

DSMs do the same thing.
