Fuel injector plug question

I recently purchased a Perrin fuel rail for my install of my Defi B/F fuel pressure gauge. Both are really nice btw. I have a question to my fellow evo owners. After partial removal of the fuel rail, I noticed that the injectors would not simple pull out of the existing fuel rail. The plugs to the fuel injectors needs to be unplugged, so the rail and injectors can be removed from under the hood. My question is how is this done. Seems silly to be asking, but I don't want to damage them. There is an orange plug attached to a gray plug attached to the actual injector. The gray plug has a wire clip that is attached to it. From my best recollection, which is slightly scued due to , I think the wire clip needs to be undone to remove the plug from the injector. Any answers on this?

Yep. You gotta remove the clip. I've seen some plugs (on VWs) that let you press the clip towards the plug body but in this case it looks like you gotta remove it at least enough to get it by the nubs that hold it on to the injector.

I was debating going with an aftermarket fuel rail as well in order to install my fuel pressure regulator. Have you experienced any issues? Running rich?

I haven't had a problems since I have installed the new rail, but I didn't do it for the a/f ratio. I installed the rail so I could attached the sensor for my defi b/f gauge. I will eventually need this new rail for fuel system upgrades though. I hope this helped.
