TurboXS MBC question

ok so i installed my MBC today. Its a turboxs model. I was wondering, i hear a hissing noise when i pop the hood. It doesnt seem to be any of the vacuum lines. It sort of seems like im just hearing the air passing through the check valve in the boost controller. Anyone else notice this?

Also i have my boost set to about 19.5 or 20 psi. It sort of acts the same as it did with the factory boost controller. It spikes at 20 for a second or two and then it drops to about 17 or 18. It doesnt drop as far as it used to but it still drops at least 2 psi. Is this also normal? Or do i have a leak somewhere?

It doesnt help that the boost controller has a huge 1/4 inch fitting and the wastegate has a 1/8 inch fitting. I guess ill have to find a happy medium with the vacuum lines. I think maybe one is oversized, but i tightened teh hell out of it with a worm clamp. Any ideas, or is what im experiencing normal?

I can't imagin a worm clamp small enough to use on the stock wastegate fitting when using the vacuum line from the boost controler. Pull that off and put a small zip tie on there. A small amount of boost fall off is normal with a manual controler, but I don't here any hissing under the hood with mine.

well the problem was that the vacuum line i got was the right size for the boost controller nipple, but too big for the wastegate nipple. So i had to use a wormclamp to make sure that it was tight enough. Im going to go back to the parts store today and get some smaller hose. I found some worm clamps at lowes that are rated down to 1/4" so that should work well. Auto parts stores around here suck major ***. No one has anything.

Thanks for the input though.

yeah you can set it in however small increments you want really. Or so it seems. Its an allen head srcrew that you turn in clockwise or counterclockwise direction to increase or decrease boost, and the amount you turn determines the amount you increase or decrease boost.

Have any of you tried the Fine control of the TurboXS one. I have, and I have 19psi to red line. You need to use the fine setting of it to help the boost up top. Let it bleed off a little boost to allow a steady boost level at redline.
Yes you can go . 5 psi jumps also just do not open the valve as much. go by 1/4 turns instead.
I have had great success with these controlers for a few years now. I have one on the GSX and it works great.
