I've learned an important lesson: Never launch an evo in over 90 degree weather in Oklahoma.
My clutch is starting slip when I give gas in 3rd or 4th gear. Fortunantly, I can still drive around normally. I took the car back to the dealership today, and they were going to charge me $390 for parts and $770 for labor. I said no thank you. Other shops said they would do it for around $475.
I don't want another p.o.s. Mitsu clutch on this thing. So I'm deciding if I want to spend the money on the twin plate exedy. Has anyone had any problems with crankwalk. I've seen numerous threads praising the clutch, but I want to be sure.

No, my first launch was at 7k than i did it a couple more times between 10-15k. I don't like to launch because it puts a lot of stress on the trany. Normaly I gun it from a rolling start when I drive hard.
I don't have firsthand experience with any of thse clutches because I am still on the OEM clutch, but I have heard alot of good things about the HKS twin plate, so you might want to look at that one also... as long as price isn't an issue.

I have the Exedy single plate and I am happy with it.
BUT, look at this thread, Mitsu may be tightening the screws on aftermarket clutches.

This guy is in a slightly different situation that most of us, but the tidbit about the clutch voiding engine warranties may be a signal of things to come.
