HKS Cams: Do i need springs and retainers too?

HKS Cams: Do i need springs and retainers too?
i just bought a set of 264 cams and was advised to buy the springs and retainers too. i was wondering if it is necessary or worth the upgrade? please post opinions. thanks!

although its a good upgrade, no i dont think you need them

jun and piper cams do need them however

not with 264/264...... maybe not even with 264/272 exhaust......

If your going to stay under 9K you don't need the springs with the HKS cams.

The hks cams do not have a high enough life to incur the need for retainers. Also with aftermarket springs with higher spring rate can also rob some power as well.

HKS Lift is not agressive enough to get springs, I rurn 272's and hit 8000 rpms, no springs.
