Just installed a Megan Racing DP on my EVO...

I was looking into trying out a new downpipe and decided to go with Megan Racing. Of course the main reason was the price. Every downpipe goes for close to $300 or more, so I went with the cheapest one I could find at right around $200 shipped. All I can say is WOW! I have personally seen and installed downpipes made by HKS, UR, RMR, Helix, turboxs, Buschur etc., and the Megan Racing dp is by far the best there is out there for the money. No other DP is any better in quality or fit. The welds are as good as they come, the flanges are as thick as can be, and the fit is even better than most. It came complete with metal reinforced gaskets, anodized bolts and no spacers needed for the tie bars. I know that most guys are drawn to names when chosing parts for their Evos and Megan racing is not exactly on par with say "Buschur", yet Megan Racing has nothing to envy buschur in quality. Im extremely impressed with this product and I would highly suggest anyone that is shopping for a Dp go with MR. I just thought I would let you guys in on a well made, very affordable part for our Evos.
Good luck

none at all. You have to remove it for this Dp and use their gasket. This DP uses a flex joint to absorb vibrations.

Bang for the buck it can't be touched... however, it necks down to fit the OE cat. That is the down side I can see...

Actually it doesn't neck down whatsoever. Maybe the one I got was improved? Not too sure but the quality is top notch. I would never install a piece that necks down on my Evo, give me a little more credit.

I have the same downpipe infront of me. I plan on putting it on my car and it is really a full 3" throughout. The welds are beautiful. IN my opinion the best part of the whole pipe is how they smoothed out the flange that fits to O2 housing. It is smooth as can be. This downpipe should not be underrated. The only thing your paying for when you buy a different downpipe is the name. With megan they spared you the expense there. I got my pipe for $150 plus $25 shipping. You will not find a better deal out there!

I give you a lot of credit... just seems I remember seeing it neck down at the cat or flex section. I'm looking real hard at them myself.

Their cat back is the same...nice quality finish, fit, and welds. Sounds great also. Everytime I go autox'ing someone either coments on its great sound or how it looks.
BTW, MR produts don't neck down anywhere. It's a true 3" throughout. It may be a tad heavier than some other aftermarket exhausts (such as Buschur) because of the thick flanges and such, but it is still way lighter than stock.
