did i get the right arp head studs?
i ordered a set of arp head studs from a company for the evo... i recieved part number- 207-4702 for the 4g63 11m. they are approx. 5 inches long. when i looked them over i noticed they didnt have a hex fitting on the end of them. i read a few post on here that other evo studs did... are the the right studs? what is the part number supposed to be? thanks,

Yes and No.
The standard stud from ARP is 207-4203
You have the undercut studs.
This is where it gets tricky. ARP says this
{i}You will also note that ARP® offers specially undercut studs
for several engines. This procedure (done only to the shorter
studs) more equalizes the “stretch” of both studs, which makes
for a more consistent clamping force—one that compensates
for head gasket compression when the head is installed. This
helps prevent blown head gaskets, and assures optimum sealing![/i]
What makes no sense here is that all the studs on the Evo are of equal length so undercut studs make no sense because there are no short studs. Normally when you have long and short then the short will not stretch as much, thereby giving you uneven torque. My suggestion is to call ARP Tech support and discuss it with them. They have excellent support.
I got a nut with no threads with my studs and they took care of it immediately.
