Pretty sure there's no such thing, and here's why: Performance exhausts are not built with noise deadening in mind. Quiet mufflers tend to be restrictive, because the air bounces around in there, hitting lots of material that quiets things down. Now, a resonator does some of the work, too, but only so much. If the performance exhaust is built to free up flow, it has to get air (the medium in which the noise is travelling) out of your car as directly as possible. That means no bouncing it around into sound-deadening material a bunch of times before it exits the pipe. You're basically strapping a "noise cannon" to your car. Granted, not all exhausts are built alike, and some are quieter than others.

Tanabe is generally said to be on the quieter end. I'm getting one for my car shortly, coz like you, I HATE highway drone. I'll post about it once it's on the car, and give everyone the full review. I can tell you to avoid Greddy, JIC, & HKS, as everyone has pretty much agreed they're very loud.

Decide which is more important to you. Power or Sound??? You can't have both at opposite ends.

lol, just cause it's loud doesn't mean it's better performance.

From what I've read, AMS has a quiet system.

For sure power ..im sure everyone whts more power ..but if there is a brand out there who is making exhaust system keeping the sound in mind and improving the power then it is great for us

I just drove my Evo with the HKS carbon-ti on it about 170 miles yesterday. I had no problem with drone. You can barely hear is IMO.

If you want it loud, put a cat delete on it. I installed the Perrin cat delete lastnight on my car. It is louder at WOT, but it seems to keep the same quiet characteristics at idle and normal driving.

i have a 3" megan downpipe, catco cat, and rnr 3" catback and mine is not very loud at cruising speeds. the exhaust tone does increase quite a bit when you step on it though. my friend has the buschur 3" turbo back with the magna flow muffler and his is pretty quiet at cruising speeds as well.

I read an article about this issue and they bascially said NO! You're forcing more air out so sound goes up and power goes up. It depends where on the curve do you want this ratio to be.

cat delete and 3" dp and catback will increase the sound and performance.

I had the tanabe racing medallion on my honda SI and it was loud as hell. It became even louder with the supercharger and cat delete.

Don't be so sure, I have the Fujitsubo RM01 exhaust which sounds like stock. I'm very suprised of how quiet it is even with no cat. Performance wise I made 325whp when dynoed at Turbotrix with basic boltons, stock IC and pipings, turbo...etc.

so cat delete , and 3in downpipe is the way to go for sound and performance.
