Nope, it's set up to spin the "normal" way.

Why would you want to do that? There's already a big 16G already. Probably makes more power.

I bought the big 16g for the 98 GST I currently own. I am thinking about buying an EVO 8. So I wanted to know if it would fit the EVO 8. I know a guy who installed a 16g on his gst and got 333hp to the wheels.

Our stock EVO 8 turbos are equivalent to the big 16g, except it spins the other way and it has a twin-scroll turbine housing, which helps spoolup. The EVO 3 b16g is quite a few generations behind the EVO 8.

not worth it the current turbo will flow jsut about the same power, the only thing u can do to the evo VIII is change out the twin scroll to a single scroll for alittle more high end or swap just the housing to the larger turbine housing... other then that ur just shooting the breeze...

I too had a Big 16g on my GSX and it was a crazy turbo, running 16psi i was in the 12's easy, the evo is nearly as fast stock and remember it runs 16 psi from 3500-7000 running it on its max psi will feel way different...

EVO w/o a doubt. Stock vs. stock, the EVO blows the GSX away in almost every aspect. The EVO's technology is several generations ahead of the DSMs, since it's been "evolving" over in Japan for the past 10 years or so.

The twin scroll exhaust housing is superior to the single scroll housings that the DSMs run. Faster spoolup, and a larger overall A/R for more top end. Nothing but plusses.

So how come they don't offer twin scroll for the dsms? I've never even heard of twin scroll till I bought the evo.

Someone would have to cast a twin scroll manifold and cast an exhaust housing. I wish that someone would.
