lets see here,

just got my evo almost about 2 months ago. it already has 2500 miles on it . so a few days i ago i was just driving around the streets practicing my shifting. still getting used to the short shift. so i stopped @ a red light. as soon as it turned green i shot off. shifting from 1st to 2nd was nice. i was going about 40-50 something mph already. then i tried shifting to third quick but got stuck and went into first. all of a sudden my car slowed down quick and screeched.. the RPMs shot all the way to 9000... luckily i pulled it out and went to neutral. i pulled over and parked on the side to check if anything was wrong.. the car looked and sounded fine. i even had a smell check to see if anything burned.. everything seemed normal... as of today my car feels the same nothing really different. it still runs perfectly fine.. feels just like it did before. i was wondering should i worry about it?

 

I wouldn't be too concerned. Since you already have 2500 mile on it and already passed the break in period. If the car is running fine and you don't notice anything, then I am sure it is fine. The EVO engine will be able to take some abuse without a problem, but I would definitely try NOT to do that again. Maybe you should take a easy a bit and practice your shifts until you are comfortable with it first.
