Using a boost controller to hold boost until redline

Question: Considering how incredibly rich the A/F ratios are on our cars. Is there any harm in using a boost controller to hold 19psi until redline; without also using a S-AFC or other fuel management box?

yes...running a car rich in any situation won't account for detination... cylinder temps control that.. so either rung a high octane or feed some outside source to lower cylinder temps. Then, yes, you may run 19 PSI to red.
FYI in stock shape way and form the Evo runs pig rich, also detinates like crazy on 91 octane... guess why the owners manual states running ~94 octane....... so the car doesn't knock... I've confirmed that in stock trim the car will run with almost zero knock on 94 octane... On 91 there are several counts and timing falls on its face...
