Which BOV WONT stall the car at idle...

I've heard of some BOV's having problems with stalling the Evo at or near idle, I heard it was because these BOVs arent atmospheric, I am about to buy myself a TurboXS RFL, and a fellow Evo owner with a Blitz BOV said not to, becuase it would stall my car, can anyone help me in determining if this is true, or find a BOV that wont stall...

It's not that they stall at idle...it's they stall coming down to idle right after you got on it or even in reverse. It's only (that I know of) the VTA style. If you get a BOV that recirculates the spent air back into the intake it won't. HKS has finally come out with an EIDS system that compensates for the spent air using a VTA style BOV. I personaly don't have any experience with the EIDS piece...but supposedly it does correct the MAF signal so it will not bog out and die when you come down to idle after getting on it a little bit.

I plan on doing a writeup on it, just waiting for it to some in (hopefully Friday). the TurboXS RFL VTA BOV and the HKS EIDS.

imo, sounds like your looking for a GFB Stealth F/X bov. this metal constructed bov is fully adjustable. you can close it all the way to recirc, or a 50/50, 60/40 etc..split of recirc and vta. you can set the tension spring to your cars needs. it also holds boost well. i and a couple others in the NorCalEvo club run with the GFB bov's and love em. i have not had a stall or idling down issues yet. and i have ran with the HKS ssqv vta. it gave me too many issues. i bought the recirc kit and it was fine, but i didn't have the nice pshhhhh sound.

I am getting in a RFL this week. The stalling until I get a UTEC is worth the sext pssssh sound

alot of times you'll find it's pure luck (or lack of it). Technically, the right way to do it is to vent to the intake if you are using the stock MAF....many people simply like the noise, so they fit a VTA BOV.

That being said, so far we have used the HKS, GReddy and Turbo XS R34 one with great success. I know some have reported occassional stalling with the HKS - I ahve yet to experience it though.

In terms of recirculating types, the MR BOV is the one to beat IMHO....totally stealth, total bolt in, and holds way more boost than stock. If you want the sound, fitting an open element air filter will help (though it still wont be quite as loud as it is with a VTA, it's more pronounced none-the-less.

GFB (Go Fast Bits) Stealth FX all the way.
Great design (functionality), great construction, and very user-friendly.
You can check it out on our site.

We're also designing a new non-adjustable Dual Valve that is EVO specific. Should be released in about 8 weeksish.

I've got a great Forge DV that I just took off my car because I got AEM and a tial VTA BOV for sale. I loved the way the forge sounded, a nice whoosh sound without any flutting. If I could have kept the sound I would have.

I just bought a used Greddy Type-S with the one spring method, it seems to be that it works great. I can't wait to install it.
