Oil ???

Hey guy's I checked my oil in my evo yesterday and it didn't even show on the dip stick. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I added oil to the car and got it a oil change. But I'm kind of worried if I hurt the engine. My damn oil light didn't come on and let me know if it was low. now my car has a sound like valve slap. Sould I take my car in to the dealer to have it checked out. I hate my dealer they don't know anything about evo's.

take it to another dealer if you don't trust them.

Yeah...you gotta check your oil at least every couple of weeks...the valvetrain in my wife's Matrix suddenly started making a lot of noise last week, so I checked the oil, and it was over 2 quarts low...she had recently gotten an oil change, too...I added more oil and the engine quieted down again and is running fine...though there are probably a few thousand extra miles of wear on the valvetrain now...

The engine has only about 16K miles on it, so I'm not too worried...

Well I got an engine flush and an oil change and after a couple of days the valve slap noise is gone. (thank god) and she's running like she always did. All I have to say is check you oil in your evo especaly if your running in hot weather above 90. I was told that the evo likes to use the oil above that temp.

I don't know what you mean by valve slap but if you're refering to the valve ticking noise I think that's normal. If you got rid of that noise by engine flush I definitely need to do that because sometimes I get the tick tick tick valve noise.
