Might want to double check the bolt on the Camshaft sensor. Make sure it's nice and tight. But before doing that clear the code and see if you get it again. I can't see any harm if you get the code again to your motor.
P0340: Sounds like you forgot to plug in the cam sensor and tried cranking your engine. No biggie. The car won't run without a cam signal.
P0420: Your rear O2 sensor is reading a "dirty" exhaust flow fooling the ECU into thinking your cat is worn out. Get an O2 emulator

i did clear the codes with my datalogger, they came back on after a few miles. should i reset my ECU? the P0420 is bugging me because i got the helix test-pipe with mech. fix and it worked fine, untill the cams were installed. do you guys think its just the extra gas being released for the new cams?
With your cams installed your egt's go down which makes your exhaust flow cooler so this could be impacting your 02 signal to trigger the rear cell. The calibration is off. Just a thought right off the top of my head for that to all the sudden come on, if it comes back on after the reset.

double check if the asymetrical cup that gets connected to the end of the camshaft is 180 degree out of phase. the narrow extension on the cup should be pointing to 10 o'clock. also check the cam angle sensor ground wire.
hope this help.

420 code?!? Oh wait... heh not that code.
Umm, if you're seeing a P0420 CEL then your rear O2 sensor is reading too much oxygen in the exhaust stream. Have you been flashed for the above mods?
