Exclamation RNR Exhaust Gets good review.

Well, first off I have to say wow. My new RNR 02 Elim Turbo-back exhaust rocks! Ryan Fellows, who mentored me along excellently when I called with a question, helped me for a solid week to get the exhaust in and working. RNR customer service was excellent, Ryan even reimbursed me for a minor 02 Bung movement I had done at a local shop. Anyways, for those of you who feel that RNR's quality and fitment are still severely lacking, I sincerely ask that you reconsider the changes they claim they have made. I too was a bit skeptical, but I bit the bullet and purchased the exhaust. For starters, my butt dyno shows obscene improvements in low-end torque, not to mention boost. My boost raised from 1.36 HkPa (19.5-20 PSI) to 1.51 HkPa (20-21.5 PSI). The sound is amazing, with a deep burbling rumble at idle and a low, growling purr as you gently touch the throttle. At WOT is absolutely shattering, the shrill of a freed turbocharger and an awesome rumbling exhaust note creating a nice melody together. The spool starts arouns 2200 RPM now, much more noticable at low RPMs that it is pulling faster. 5th gear acceleration improved dramatically, as well as my 0-60 start speeds. It would probably be even faster if my tires weren't bald! Overall a great product worth looking into for the money, with high quality welds and look for a price that is unbeatable for the Evo market. I know there has been alot of hate-posts about the RNR company, but let me tell you first hand they got thier **** together and made a product that, if publicized, could truly rock the Evo tuning market. Overall, a great product, though I recommended to Ryan to inform customers on the difficulty before purchase and developing an install guide to help. I couldn't
have done it without my air tools and a cheater bar. The only shop work I couldn't do was the 02 sensor on the downpipe, which had to be moved to fit with the larger diameter downpipe and air conditioner. The welds and bolt-up fitment are great, however three issues arose after fitting
exhaust:
1. The exhaust rubs on the rear sway barely, but can be fixed with a soft wrap to keep the noise to a minimum or continued pulling on the hangers to stretch them. Not sure how a larger sway bar would be affected.
2. The scuff plate does not fit without having to trim or remove a section of the scuff plate because the new downpipe extends down lower. Something Ryan might want to look into, because I know many Evo owners who would be afraid of rocks getting into thier intercooler or other exposed areas without a scuff plate. 3. The second of the two tie bars on the underneath does not fit. RNR is working on a spacing kit to solve this as we speak.
Lastly, as Ryan told, the "service engine
soon" light came on, but is a quick fix with the 02
emulator.
Don't let these issues scare you away though. They are very minor things that cast very little shadow on an otherwise perfect product. Do know that it does requre patience, determination and a little extra money to upgrade other aspects of the car (02 Emulator). The minor issues associated with the fitment have not affected my opinion of RNR's product, which is a "diamond in the rough." Hope this helps clear up some of the debate about RNR's questions. I can make pictures if anyone would like, PM me with your email address and I will send them. Good luck, and keep making these excellent products RNR.

Any contact between exhaust system and the rest of the car is severly amplified when you are on a road course. Even systems that clear when sitting still can hit (Buschur).

I bought their HKS Carbon/Ti catback and am also very pleased with the product. I'm surprised you're having issues with rubbing of the sway bar. Mine is nowhere near the sway bar.

Thanks for the compliments guys. We have been selling a lot of the catbacks and turbo backs lately. We have also finalized everything on the 02 elim downpipes so that there is no problems with 02 placement anymore. Thanks for the helping us out.

rblader86, try a couple of the adjustments I mentioned and you should be good to go.

I have the RNR 3in turboback with high flow catco cat and magnaflow muffler and the fitment is perfect. No rubbing anywere. Awesome sound too, not too loud or intrusive at all, just deep and mean, especially at WOT. I notice spool up starts at around 2200RPM and I can hei 20psi by 2900.

thanx again Ryan,

Guack

Thanks guys. Everyone that gets it pretty much agrees it is the best bang for your buck. High quality parts that work well for a low sale price.

I just wanted to speak my mind. I went down this weekend and got a turboback with magnaflow muffler from them installed. I have to say, I am pretty impressed. I had a nice 170 mile ride back home testing to see how it handled my everyday driving. I am not sure on how there quality was before but if it was not up to par. I will say that they defintely fixed whatever issues people had. So far a smile has spread accross my face.

I purchased an rnr exhaust a few weeks ago and finally got it put on. my experience was not off to the best start, as I asked that the exhaust be shipped a week after I ordered due to vacation, but was shipped a week after that date. I missed an appointment to have installed. no big deal due to the price. I ordered a catback with magnaflow. I decided after seeing it on monday to tackle it myself. the quality and fit/finish of the welds is great. it does seem to place the hanger under the pass. wheel well at an odd angle and I think that this one will wear out, but a small price to pay for aftermarket equipment. mine too rubs on the rear bar under hard cornering, but you have to listen for it to hear it. the sound is GREAT and I can tell a difference, especially over 4k. it sticks out about 1.5 inches further than the stocker, but overall i am happy....

It great to hear guys. Glad they fit perfect and are at the right price for you. If the rear pipe gets close just adjust it in the slip and tighten down the clamp real tight. These systems look so nice and perform so well I don't know why anyone would order any other system. We also offer over 10 different mufflers to put on the end of your system.

We have been selling so many that it's hard to keep them in stock. Thanks for all the new orders.
