Review on Esplier Cat-Back on 04 RS!

Just installed it myself over the weekend.

All stainless steel with 3" pipe througout w/ exception of tapering to 2 5/8" at the cat mount. Much lighter than the stock, it has angled look w/ 4" tip.

Performance wise, WOW - big difference to stock. Car accelerates with force and purpose. I did'nt think just a catback would make a difference, but it definitely opened it up!

As far as sound, it's got a nice growl from idle to acceration. At WOT it's NOT noticably louder - just little drooning at speeds. It's probably more pronounced in my RS w/ less insulation.

All in all, nice exhaust catback that I can live with everyday!

you'll get even better performance if you chop off the resonator, which from other peoples' accounts, tapers down to TWO INCHES.

Got it from Vivid Racing, but check out the for sale section/ goup buy on this forum. There some other sweet deals on this exhaust.

Definitely would recommend this exhaust!

It was rated one of the quieter version relative to other makes.

Yes it came w/ resonator and No I would not chop it!

W/O resonator, it would be significantly louder. I should know my Thermal for my Eclipse had no resonator and it was damn loud, so I welded one in.

Contrary to some people, Esplier does NOT taper to 2", I measured it to be exactly 2 5/8 to 2 3/4" hole at the flange. Stock cat had 2 1/2" hole exactly.

Next step is aftermarket downpipe, 3" should fit but won't be a perfect fit due to stock cat's 2.5 inlet. Maybe 2.5" DP would be better fit to use on stock cat and after market catbacks that taper.

thanks ya I was looking at this exhaust cause it doesn't sound like a fart cans like some other ones out there do. I liked the low rumble. I found a link that has about 11 sound clips for for the EVO with different exhausts. thanks for the info!

Ok something is not registering. I didn't say the FLANGE tapered down to 2", i said the RESONATOR tapered down to 2". You cant see that unless you try real hard b/c its in the middle of the pipe.
