Anyone installed a radiator before?

What are the steps to installing a radiator?? The reason I ask is because I've heard mixed stories. Some say you have to drain the coolant in the engine and radiator and when putting it on, you have to use handpump to pump some air out....

Some say you don't need to do all that, you just unplug the two coolant hose (top and bottom) and coolant will flow out and just catch that, then swap the radiator and then put on new one and fill it up with coolant......No handpump needed.......

So does anyone know the correct way of doing it or know of a way that has worked for you?

Thanks....

I used the second approach, but you then have to come back and top up after your first few drives as the air bubbles make their way up to the top.

Use common sense. It's very easy. Think about where the coolant flows and how much of it you want on your floor. Go from there.

To get all the air out of the coolant paths, I fill up the radiator and let the car run w/ the cap off. Once the thermostat opens up, you'll see coolant flowing. I top off the coolant at this point and put the cap back on.
