Is it true you dont pass 5k rpm for the first 1000 miles? After that the engine should be ready to rock and roll?

 

depends on who you ask, and its 600 miles....according to the book

i didn't follow it and mine was fine, until someone ran a stop sign

 

I used the "Motoman method" on my Evo, and when I rebuilt my SC GSR. The GSR is running 8-9psi on 10:1 compression for 300hp, and doesn't burn a drop of oil after over 20k miles. The Evo's at over 27k and uses less than most.
