wthoevo8, it's his MAF. Tweaker took the two screws holding the plugg and MAF out and pulled the plugg apart from the MAF. Then when he realized that it probably wasn't suppose to come out, he then tried putting the plugg back in. When he tried to put it back in, it wouldn't go back in, so he used the screws to force it back into the MAF. This will most definitely mess up the MAF. I don't think anyone has had check engine lights with the Injen kit yet(if installed properly).

I opened the maf today, figure I don't have anything else to lose. The metal plugs inside didn't look to bad, they were all connected. I'm not sure how many of you have seen the inside of a maf, but it's looks sophisticated, I couldn't really do much but look at it, because it's basically a circuit board but much much more crowded. I remember the crimping noise it made when I put it back in. Didin't sound good. I know it's the maf, as it's the only thing I did wrong in the installation. I checked and rechecked. Every thing is on there just right. I could be proud of myself if I didn't mess up the maf. A freind of mine works at a body shop, and he says they get dealer discounts. I told him if he can, that'd be cool, but I don't know how reliable he is, since he is all talk about most things. I know what I have to do, so I'm just going to bite the bullet and do it. Once I get my evo back to optimal performance, then I will probably forget this whole mess.

Isnt there a tool that deletes the codes? The dealer is the last place you should go. SOmeone should be able to fix it for half that price. Stay away from the dealer man.

A MAF from a 95-99 DSM will work as long as it is from a model with turbo. Heck it will be alot cheaper. I unbolted the one from my 96 gst and it works like a charm .

Autozone and most performance shops will clear the codes for free.

The MAF from 95-99 Turbo 4G63's and natually aspirated 4G64's are the same. You should be able to find one easily. Part #md183609.

Even for cheap, I have no money now. I'll get it soon, but it will be a couple weeks. Well, hopefully next week. Damn work didn't put my vacation hours on my check. So I am getting payed for only 3 days this week, and car payment and insurance are due on thursday. Thanks for the help though, I'll look up that part number.
