Just ordered Kartboy Shifter linkage and base amoeba bushings

Do you guys think these will definatly help with shifting issues?? I ordered both the linkage and base bushings from Kartboy combined with a rebleed of my SS clutch line.. How easy is the install of both underhood and base?? Hopefully these will help clear up the 3rd gear lockout issue I am having. Clutch rod adjustment didnt seem to help anything at all.

I haven't done the bushing install myself but all the posts I've read say it's easy.

Yeah all of those installs are a breeze. Under hood: Unclip retainers, take out old bushing, put new one in, put clip back on..

Very straight forward, although the underhoods are a little 'tight' to get at. Figure about 30 - 45 mins for the underhood and around an hour for the shift base bushings.

Tightens the shift up a little and well worth the money and effort.

As much as I wish it would for you, I don't think it will. It's sounding like you have other gremlins to over come (the "lock out")...

As ZEUS has already said, it does sound like you have more issues than bushings and a short shift kit will address - although I think they'll help with a more precise gear change.

Failing to engage 3rd would more likely be an internal gearbox issue, as long as the linkage between the shift stick and gearbox are properly adjusted (and there's not much to go wrong there).

Have you tried speaking to your local Mitsu money-pit about it?
