stock fuel pressure? ... need help fast
I just installed injectors, perrin fuel-rail, airmotive fuel pressure regulator... I just wanted to know what to set the fuel pressure to at idle. right now at idle it's holding at 25psi. i was thinking it should be around 43psi stock.
help me please
thanks

stock fuel pressure according to service manual is 42-45psi. when setting the fuel pressure, make sure the fuel pressure regulator's vacuum line is disconnected. so yes, at idle with the vacuum line connected, the fuel pressure will be lower than spec'd.

the fuel pressure in which u set actually translates to a pressure difference between actual fuel pressure and the pressure at which the fuel is injected to. a certain fuel pressure is required for the specific spray pattern designed for a specific system. that pressure jus so happens to be, at least usually, about 43psi fuel pressure/manifold pressure difference. which means...if at 0psi, the fuel pressure needs to spray at 43 psi. if at 20psi of boost, the fuel pressure will need to be at 63psi in order to keep that certain spray pattern. that is why the fuel pressure regulator is boost variant, at least one of the reasons why. so basically all you need to do when setting fuel pressure is set that pressure difference...which is why you remove the vacuum line.g'luck
