Angry Misfiring like Crazy!!

My car is misfiring from 4-5K... I de-installed all the BR stages on my car and still having the same problem. I installed another set of plugs, plugs wire, coils, MAF, Cam Sensor, also I blow and clean the fuel line and the fuel rail. and still having the problem.

This morning I spoke with the evo tech here in the island... he presume that can be the computer but the car is not throwing any code..

The car was faster than ever.... the day after the car ran 11.98@115..

I p%^$ed ... I buyed some sunoco oxigenated race gas to see if I ran 11:8....

Any Ideas??

My car did this only in 3rd and 4th gears right around that RPM range as well. They found in my case it was the trans. making a harmonic that the knock sensor was picking up and the PCM would them pull timing. It wouldn't throw a misfire code and nothing would make it go awy until they unplugged the knock sensor. I believe there is now a reflash available from Mitsu. if this is what is wrong with your car. If you want more on this my thread "unf**kingbelievable" has all the details toward the end.

When you disconnect the knock sensor the computer will automaticly retard timing by @ 8 degrees. I would not leave it like this becuase you will have no protection against detonation and will not be making maximum power. If the problem goes away when you unhook it though, then you have the same problem I had. Plug the knock sensor back in and go to your dealer and get the reflash.
