What is all this talk about SS Clutch Line? Newbie

I'm new to the board and see alot of people have this done. Is this a important mod that should be done i see that is cheap enough to do if it helps. What are the real life improvements and will this part void my warranty if brought in? Also is there a how to install this piece?

Thank in advance,
JB

uhm... iunno about warrenty... anything will void your warranty... and if you decide to remove the butterfly vlave which everyone does... then kiss your tranny warrenty goodbye. the stock clutch line isn't precise... it balloons... if you don't mind the stock engaging and stuff like that... it's not immediately necessary. but all in all... it just improves feel and responsiveness of your clutch engagement and release.

I am pretty sure he is talking about the clutch restrictor mod. Do a search, also check www.evomoto.com and look in there tech section. I believe it may be there can't remember.

21,000 miles and still going. Stock clutch. Stock clutch line. Stock restrictor valve. Car driven hard as hell every day. These mods are not necessities, and you should really understand exactly what you are doing before you do them.

By removing the restrictor valve and changing to a SS clutch line, you will be putting a greater possibility for shock loading your transmission when you change gears quick. The restrictor valve slows the engagement of the clutch, but many people think that it slows it too much and this is the reason for the 1-2 gear change grind. I have the stock restrictor plate. I change gears fast. I never grind a gear in the Evo, never have. It's not the restrictor plate that causes this. However, if you are going to be drag racing the car, remove it. This will keep your clutch from slipping upon initial engagement and let you transfer all the power to the tires immediately. After you remove it and start drag racing, expect to buy a new clutch and transfer case.

The SS clutch line will just make things feel a bit more "fluid". The stock pedal feels squishy sometimes, abd this firms it up and makes it more linear in pedal feel. Do it if you want, but I have never found a need for it.

Hope this helps...
