dropping the clutch at 7k rpm

Got 2 questions.

1.How much damage will it do the stock clutch.
2.Will the car just peel out or just launch like a rocket

Rocket... if done properly .....or maybe you will just sit there as the clutch vaporizes...

Are you asking out of curiosity or do you plan on vaporizing your clutch?

Out of curiosity. How much would a after market clutch hold if I were to launch it at 7k rpm as well?

Just saw a video with a WRX launching at redline and dropping his clutch made me wonder how much damage he did to his clutch. But he took off like a rocket.

It's not the upgraded clutch you'll have to worry about. It's everything else. tranny, front diff/ transfer case, rear diff and half shafts. You should be able to launch the car like a rocket without going to redline to do it. between 5000-6000 rpms.

Slip the clutch until the car starts to roll and then drop it? Is that the best way to do it with least amount of damage?

if you launch properly it will onyl damage the clutch.

you have to find ahappy medim between slipping and dropping. I slip/drop the clutch at about 6k and its netted me many many 1.6 60 foots. As long as you dont get wheel hop your diff/t case should be ok.
