Exhaust Manifold Comparison, RNR Vs. AMS....

Welp, both these compaines have great products, and nothing has gotten my attention more then these GT Series BB turbo's. My main concerns are these manifolds. They look awesome but I always fear cracking as well as additional lag as the low end exhaust velocity is lessened as well as you lose twin scroll.

Which manifold do you think is better?

RNR's Manifold

And the AMS manifold

Both look awesome, I just wish I jumped on the RNR deal of ......
Group Buy Prices
50 trim kit w.Equal length $2799
GT30R Kit w/Equal length $3399
GT35R Kit w/Equal length $3599

Which is more then likely over {thumbdwn}

Anyway, same turbos, manifolds??????

AMS...period. They have proven themselves time and time again. RNR...that's another story. I've seen both with my own eyes and they are both great looking peices, but the RNR turbo kit does not have my vote over AMS.

AMS turbo kit! and Stoker Kit.. You will love AMS.. and STOKER kit whoo!

umiami80 Jun 13, 2005 08:19 PM

Then I look at this ATP Kit, $2,300, I can get a twin scroll equal length manifold from Megan Racing for like $300 and bam, full GT30 Kit for $2,600, what the hell is the difference?

J8dailo Jun 13, 2005 08:21 PM

in my own opinion..the RNR looks better but AMS has proven over and over again that they outperforms everyone

platinumspecv Jun 13, 2005 08:27 PM

RnR definatley has lower prices. Havnt really heard any of their manifolds cracking - and even if they do, RnR offers a lifetime warranty on their manifolds :)

Tim@AMSperformance Jun 13, 2005 09:08 PM

AMS has sold over 80 kits and not one has cracked yet!!

rlazer5000 Jun 13, 2005 09:21 PM

It's hard to say which one is better. Honestly I think RNR has a nicer looking manifold, plus they have a better warranty than AMS (lifetime vs. 2 years). I know RNR has received a bad rep, but I still think their turbo are really nice, especially now since they hired more employees to keep up with the demand. I purchased an RNR kit because Ryan gave me a kick ass deal, something that AMS couldn't offer me (I'm not hating, I'm just mentioning this point). Don't get me wrong, I love AMS and they're 20 minutes away from my house. They have high quality products and their staff is top notch! IMO, if I had the money, I would have gone with the AMS kit plain and simple!

i don't think i've read any of RnR manifolds cracked either.plus ryan gives a life time warrenty also

Evoisdream Jun 13, 2005 11:15 PM

honestly thier is so much more to the t-kit then the manifold i would look at other things in it for example rnr will sell thier mani without the kit and ams wont..... i would personally go with ams if i had the money but i dont i love the RNR manifold but i wont spend the money on that either....

mainly personall prefrence have yet to hear of either cracking both work amazing and look great .... but like back in the day with all the dsm guys that went through the tubular manifold stage we will have ours 2

plokivos Jun 13, 2005 11:23 PM

full race manifold. or rnr. I like the rnr manifold a lot.

Sean@Iveytune Jun 14, 2005 12:29 AM

The AMS is the nicest one period. I cannot see how anyone can even think of comparing the RNR to the AMS, you must have not seen them in person.
The AMS is a complete proven package that has made many a car fast, the proof is in the pudding. Looks are subjective but I also think the AMS manifold wins in being more aesthetically functional :-)
In General the quality of anything coming out of AMS is top notch, you cannot appreciate it until you see the stuff in person.

Both of them are bad ass.

dryad001 Jun 14, 2005 08:07 AM

I know this is a little off topic but I have the Rnr IC, and let me tell you about the workmanship. The welds look perfect, fit's perfect, noticable hp difference.

AMS is a good shop and all but they don't or won't deal like some of the other shops, AMS GB was a F'en joke "Wow $100 off, big deal". Rnr products are proven you just have to search for the posts, Im sure there aren;t as many kits out there as AMS but I haven't heard anything bad about their kits.

AutoMotoSports Jun 14, 2005 10:31 AM

Our group buy on our GT35R kit was over $300 off.

Mr Ivey, Thank you for the nice comments. Coming from someone who has been in this industry as long as you that really means alot.

Thanks to everyone that posted nice things about AMS.

our kit is more then every other kit out there because it costs more to make. Plain and simple. No other kit is more complete and none has been proven to work greater then the AMS GT series kits. Hell Al went 9's on an off the shelf AMS GT35R turbo Kit.

Eric
