Dynoe'd my 03 EVO! Am I about right?

I have minimal mods and the torque is very good with this combo. thinking on going with some cam shafts , porting and polishing of the heads, valvetrain, and a walbro pump next. I want that 300whp figure. this is at the flywheel mind you from crap 91 oct. pump gas from some budget place near the coast highway. DISCUSS {thumbup}

the hp and a/f ratios are green and the torque and boost are blue.

oh yes , this was a 4th gear pull. Would 3rd have made a difference?

Good numbers, could they tell you what the power is to the wheels? And I think a custom tune could smooth all that jumpy-ness out. Do you have an MBC?

I do have a mail in works p2r reflash, no mbc. maybe an safc and a custom tune from a shop would smooth things out.

power to the wheels is 15-17% driveline loss I believe. probably translating to 255-260hp and 280-290ft lbs to the wheels on crap gas. 91

Damn, thats sucks. You need to find better gas. If it makes that much of a difference, damn. Where is oceanside? Is it CA?

That's a pretty nasty looking set of power curves. That torque curve is awful, but the parts are good, and Works flashes are good usually as far as I know. You shouldn't dyno in 4th, but it didn't cause all that weird peaking.

I'm affraid I was a little too lean in some places but the guy who dynoed it said there was no knock apparently and maintenance wise, the belts are good and everything is clean on the fuel side as far as I know. I'm not sure what is causing these spikes.

I-speed/crawford dyno eh?

The torque reads REALLY high on the i-speed dyno, so I wouldn't get your hopes up on that.

As far as the peakiness in the curves, they probably have the resolution up really high so you see every little change, most peoples curves will look like that if the dyno operator cranked up the resolution.

Are those faint / ghosted lines with the resolution lower?

hmm... that explains the toruque then. actually I do remember him hicking up the resolution and kept it the same during all the runs. the faint ghost line is the 2nd run I believe to compare and show consistency. obviously this doesn't look very consistent especially in the huge torque spike. at the same time boost whent up and afr leaned out.

sounds like they changed the resolution/smoothing numbers to hit the big peak numbers then. Less smoothing usually produces bigger peak numbers.

It's hard to compare numbers on this dyno because it's showing flywheel and alot of people also do not use dynapacks so it's hard to compare.

this dyno was a flop mainly because its inconsistent and whoever was doing the work must have been really tired and not gave a crap. :/ I think I should honestly ask them to re do it.

I have to agree with you on this. The car falls flat on its face after peak torque and keeps losing to redline. There are wild fluctuations in your hp curve. A well tuned Evo can produce a flat torque and hp curve even on crappy 91 gas. Take a look at my dyno in this thread

I would not go to the same shop. Find a shop with a dynojet. These are the most commonly used and you can compare to other cars to see where you are.

I think I know the reason my dyno looked like this :crap:. These are subaru tuners and they even said I am the first evo they EVER dynoed. They were asking me for the parameters and asked me which gear was closest to 1. I told them 4th obviously because it is. But like wartalon said it should not have been in 4th. I think they had the parameters screwed and the resolution way too high, handed me this crap and said I have no problems. HA! Of course my dum ass should not have gone there in the first place being a subi shop.
