Dyno Sheet...What do you think?

I got my 05 dyno tuned on Friday. The car had a TBE, A drop in K&N and JDM DV.

The runs were done on a dynojet. The first run produced 272 hp and 274 ft-lb torque w/o any tuning. On 91 **** octane the car gave a maximum 292 hp and 296 ft-lb or torque. On 100 octane the numbers climb to 312 hp and 310 ft-lb.

Your numbers are about average for an 05 VIII with those mods, I've seen some with a little higher, but those were all on 93 octane, not **** gas we use in the West.

not bad 20whp from tuning only, that would make me happy, not to mention you have a conservative tune with AFR's at 11.

I really wish we had 93 octane gas here in CA. The EVO would feel so much stronger on 93 octane. IIRC, the manual says to use 93 octane and 91 if there is no 93 available.

I am very satisfied with the tune and the service I got from Tuning Technologies. I wanted the car to have a margin of error in the tune. 11.1-11.2 was optimal. When I take it to the road course I will run 100 octane to be even safer.

Smoggy,

Thanks for posting the sheet from the link to the thread. I ran without a cat. I had an LPI test pipe. I do not like that test pipe since it narrows down from 3 inch to about 2.5 inch due to the pipe being perforated to make it quieter. Also, the fitment is poor. I will either have a pipe made by my local performance muffler shop or purchase another one. Do you recommend any good ones?

I used the pipe for testing only. Now I am running a hi-flo cat.

Great run nj1266! I like the way your tq curve is flat and doesn't really come down till hp takes over. Also like the way your hp doesn't drop at redline. A well rounded tune. Good job!

To be fair, your numbers are uncorrected. Mine are STD corrected. If I do not correct the numbers, then I am at:

91 octane: 283 hp and 286 torque
100 octane: 301 hp and 299 torque

Correction allows us to compare different dyno sheets at different times from the same brand dyno machine. The shop I used uses STD correction for some reason. Others use SAE. That is the most commonly used.

i cant see the posters actual end TQ #'s but at the top it looks like the graph goes in 5's or 10's so his torque is only falling to around low 200's in redline, which is normal for minimal mods stock turbo.

his numbers arent that bad should get the corrected numbers, and do smoothing on the dyno chart, and get a chart that shows that HP, and TQ compared equally, and smoothed out. im sure its better than we can all see.

i bet it feels fast, and your happy, i didnt see if you had a MBC, if you do you can turn it up 1 or 2 psi and even make alittle more power.. rule of thumb 1 psi 10 hp or more...

THATS my .2C =)

His numbers are good. We have about the same 210ish lbs of torque and 280ish hp at 7K. These are uncorrected numbers.

From the looks of it, his dyno chart is smoothed. But it is still jagged. I think it is a function of our crappy 91 octane gas.
