Cams pins are set for older 4g63 for an Eclipse etc.. NOT an Evo

Free Tilton carbon carbon for Matt55 shipped same day air! J/K, Good call though. At least 10 people have looked at these gears and did not notice the flaw in the manufacturing process. I finally studied them last night and was like "wait a minute, WTF?!". |
What diff will it make if the "dsm" holes are used vs "evo" holes ?
I got mine in the "dsm" holes ..... |

I have contacted Fidanza twice about the dowels. They stated there is no difference in what dowel holes you set the gears in as long as you line them up with the corresponding marks on the valve cover if you use the DSM settings. Good to know. Figured it was designed that way on purpose, but never really looked further into it.
As far as defect from the Fidanza, I have a set of Red ones that a few teeth on the one gear appear to be off. What is now happening is the corners of the gear are wearing away. Now the timing belt has a little wear, and will need replacing sooner than needed. I know they don't pull. And yes it has the force applied to the belt there. However this is the only place it is happening. To many things going on at once =P
