Cosworth IX Camshaft Test Results
Tonight we finally finished our testing with the Cosworth Evo IX Camshafts. We were very happy with the results. All testing was performed on our Mustang AWD Dyno. These are true wheel horsepower and torque numbers. A dyno graph comparison is attached to the thread.

You have an '06, so these cams are for the MIVEC head, yes?
Yes. the recent hubbub has been about the release of Cosworth IX cams.
we need to finsh tuning mine so we can post some dyno numbers on my baby.
I wonder if Evo9 will benefit more by upgrading the wastegate to hold more boost than upgrading cams. It is very difficult to gauge what the Cosworth cams can do in a high modded car like yours.
Wtf, motec m800 on a IX, good gains no doubt, but there is an extra growth of power becasue of the stroker and the other mods + the fact that your pushing 26-27 psi, how about a stock IX test (maybe with a tbe/mbc) on 21psi to see how much it nets
This test means nothing to 99.9999999999% of IX owners.
im next, 2.4, motec, everything just put it all on there. ill be right back got to go rob a bank
I was about to say...you'd need to rob a bank to have all that crap.
I think what most 9 owners are looking for is on stock 9 turbo & ecu with basic bolt ons with the addition of the cosworth cams and what the outcome of the gains are.

We will post some comparisons with the other more stock IX's from the shop a little later. The car we used for testing has a setup which was able to really show the potential of these camshafts. I'm guessing you guys are looking at it as "If I pay $1,100.00 for cams I could gain this much power or I could pay $100.00 for a boost controller and gain this much power." Well we will see.
You've got to pay if you want to play. |
No, I don't think that's what people are saying. I think people realize that you're going to get much bigger gains on a setup like that than on any normal Evo, so the information is not relevant to 99% of Evo owners. If you see the same gains on a bolt-on IX, then they'll fly off the shelves.

I agree. I have a flash/tbe and if I can gain 25+ in terms of power with 10+ at least through the powerband I would be happy. Or better yet, gets me into the 11's. |
