The tick maybe the lifters...

Psquared Mar 27, 2008 04:58 PM

^^ +1 Not bleeding the lifters is notorious for causing a ticking sound.

the shop that did it is dyno comp here in az they said you dont have to bleed lifters if your not changing them but dont you have to do it any ways cause you installed bigger cams
?

I agree. Bleeding the lifters is a basic MUST for any cam install. It isn't even very difficult to do. They should know better.

so i got my car back today after paying 400 for lifters and install and that wasnt the tick they are now telling me its a bearing or piston pin its loud and when you rev it gets louder

Boost_Inspired Apr 8, 2008 01:12 PM

hnmm did u double check to make sure the new lifters were properly bled , if the noise started right after cams its gotta be a valvetrain issue.

mdsevo06 Apr 8, 2008 01:18 PM

$400 FOR LIFTERS! You could have purchased a new set of JAM 3mm for $175. Need to find a new shop and have it looked at....Vivid maybe.

Magnumpsi Apr 8, 2008 01:39 PM

That does not sound right. If you want PM me and I am sure we can figure it out for you.
