Photo's of my Green install
This took about 6 hours... I also drained the coolant (changed to distilled) plus changed the head bolts for ARP studs. I used all new hardware and new gaskets, but re-used the oil/water lines.
No problems thus far, and the difference (even untuned) is quite huge. I'll start a different thread for the tuning & comparison of the Green to the Stock turbo as soon as I get to the dyno next week... this is just for pics & installation process. What was changed: Code:
Mobile1 5w-30 >>> ENEOS 0w-50ETS Intake Helix Exhaust Walbro FP PTE 780cc Nisei LICP AGP FMIC ETS UICP ACT XTSS Fidanza FW If the pictures don't work, here's a Flickr gallery: http://www.flickr.com/photos/2368969...7604462360315/ http://images.rallyevo.com/old_incar.jpg http://images.rallyevo.com/old_bench.jpg http://images.rallyevo.com/old_outcar.jpg http://images.rallyevo.com/stock.jpg http://images.rallyevo.com/green.jpg http://images.rallyevo.com/new_outcar.jpg http://images.rallyevo.com/new_bench.jpg http://images.rallyevo.com/new_incar.jpg http://images.rallyevo.com/gasket.jpg http://images.rallyevo.com/icpipes.jpg |

Nice. You will notice a pretty big difference. The turbo, especially the compressor and turbine wheels, are much bigger than the stock 16g.

That's a comparison between an Evo VIII and Evo IX turbo. He has an Evo IX so externally the Green looks exactly the same from his 16G.

why are you using that crappy hardware on your turbo?
i hope you used plenty of antisieze, as that hardware will become 1 with that hotside after several heat cycles.... i apologize for being harsh, but you'll be more pissed at yourself down the road when those butter bolts break in your hotside. Change that out if you can asap with oem stuff. The cost for all new oem hardware is less than the cost of having 1 threaded hole repaired down the road...let alone the hassle of removing everything in order to get it repaired. just order the oem hardware from san rafael mitsu or mitsubishi.com... nice pics |
Everything's anti-seized of course

All I see are red x's....
