Magnus intake manifold.... good bad?

has anyone upgraded to this product? just curious on what some of the hp gains are? if you did... or is it even worth the trouble of going to that extent?

all magnus products will yield a HP gain. Their intake manifolds are sick! Mid range response and power def raise. Use the search button or contact magnus directly. Allot of people run their product on their cars.

nice... thats for the input...

evokel Apr 20, 2008 09:31 AM

i heard you lose so much more than stock, and i also heard its been discontinued

EvoBroMA Apr 20, 2008 09:32 AM

the original magnus manifolds were worse than stock, and have been discontinued.

this has been experienced by several people, and has been dyno proven by a couple vendors. buschur hates them, and has posted his dyno's of the original manifold.

Magnus manifolds have not been discontinued. Their EVO manifolds were changed in 2005 (CNC'd bell mouthed velocity stacks and other changes). Paul Nelson made 1014 HP on one recently. A recent magazine article said "discontinued", but the correct statement would have been "the earlier model was modified, and replaced by the newer, improved version".

Dave Buschur got mad at a comment that Magnus made about Dave's polishing bearings and said he was going to do a test to show that the early Magnus manifold lost power. He found an early model of the Magnus manifold on E-Bay, and posted his results of a dyno test. When Dave Buschur did his test of the early Magnus manifold (in the last six months) the newer Magnus manifold had been out for 2+ years. Dave Buschur repeatedly pointed out that he did not test the newer (current) Magnus manifold.

Dyno testing on the current Magnus manifold shows positive gains. You can find a thread on that testing, with all the underlying data, here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=331233, or on the Magnus website, I'd guess.

Pick whichever one you feel comfortable with after you look at all the test data.

ask buschur...bad all the way, he sold all of his at cost and said for display only

version 2 beta Apr 20, 2008 05:08 PM

^ that's the problem.

the Magnus manifolds make power hands down. Unless you have proof otherwise i suggest to keep your mouth shut. What would asking buschur do?

besides it is very well known that buschur will down play any magnus intake manifold after what happened at the DSM shootout in 2k6 in think. Which by the way was won by magnus with his own off the shelf intake manifold that you can now buy.

educate yourself and don't take another person's word for it.

research

research

research

and above all don't listen the the buschur fan club.

Are you kidding me?

Direct port nitrous, you'll gain a$$loads with that one provided you hook those lines up:lol:

thinking for yourself and thinking objectively also have good points, no offense but the test left alot to be desired in the terms of completeness and circumstances.

The Magnus is a great manifold, it has a very nice design and made with the best quality. It will really help up in the higher rpms

mmmkay.... a buddy of mine who owns a decked out wrx and a few DSM's here in town have had their manifold crack at the welds. one actually blew the whole seam weld at only 20 psi on a 18g. looks like it was unzipped.
heres just one of many posts: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt...-manifold.html
funny how Brent Rau doesn't even use a magnus manifold yet is sponsored by them. those things are trash. JMF, AMS, BJ's, intake mani's are much better.
