A full 37r build top to bottom...COMPLETE!

I finally got around to start my 6765 build. Engine will be out this week and off to the machine shop. When I get enough time Ill add in the specifics of the build. AC will also be coming out, just need to figure out how to get rid of the freon. Heres a few pics to start off with:

Running extremely rich? Yep.

Overall the cylinder walls are in great shape and even after 50k the cross hatch is still there. Ill see if I cant get a good picture of it.

So far a huge thanks goes out to Mike@AWD, Scott@TTP, Machine Motorsports.

The floater plate, flywheel and pressure plate are all in very good condition

Nice, did u pull the engine+trans from the top?

We did mine like that, and also put it in all together from the top. Very Very tight, but it will go.

Looking good.

skold Jul 13, 2008 08:38 AM

you got a pic of the back half of your motor, the machine shop lost one of t screw in freeze plugs and they are like i dunno , its right behind the flywheel, if you had a pic it would help to show them.

vwjeff Jul 13, 2008 08:45 AM

Thats more work than I wanna do. I HATE doing engines:(

Let me run back downstairs to the garage and Ill snap a pic for you. Its a bit tight from the engine stand so ill get 1 from the top and 1 from the bottom.

Anyways, finished it up this morning.

And I couldnt have done it without my helper. She sits quietly in the corner of the garage, amazing for a shepherd.

Ill be dropping the engine off for the machine work and the re-assembly this week. The guy is so booked that it will take about 3 weeks, but that should give me enough time to strip the head and re-assemble it.

I sure did. There was a ton of room, dunno what your talking about :) It was a bit tight for a bit then the engine hoist ran out of fluid so it was a quick up and over the radiator support. Im debating on to just put the engine in from the top and do the transmission from the bottom...will see, depends on how motivated I get.

Thanks for all the kind words people, so far this is turning into a ton of work and I just got the engine out. I still have to put the car back to rolling condition to send it out for a cage, re-do the fuel system, and a ton of other things.
