Did the dealer just called me a NOOB!
I been searching on the fluids and maintanance charts for a couple days because I am doing the 30k mile lube change. So I go to the dealer I ask for DIAQUEEN for my transfer case and rear diff. I tell him "Thats a gallon right", he says yeah, now I start to think i only need less than 2 quarts to do both yet I will have all of this oil to store away.
Before I even open my mouth to ask for my next fluid he says,"Thats plenty to do the tranny too!" WTF! 1gallon of diaqueen to do the TC, diff, and tranny? I tell him that the tranny fluid is diffrent its 75w90 and he says its the same thing. So am I wrong ,I know the fluid charts has two diffrent pics of oil canasters . |
Damn, pwned by a mitsu tech
So I was right, I cant use SAE90 Diaqueen on my tranny! How did i just get pawned if he doesnt know his job...lol
Diaqueen 75w90 in the tranny and DiaQueen SAE 90 in the TC and rear diff
yea, gear box and tc/lsd are not interchangable
you were correct
Now I am getting that minor crunch in my shifting , i keep reading on synchromesh but everyone says Diaqueen for the tranny because of manufacturers specs.
Should I just stick with the diaqueen in the tranny or try that synchromesh tranny fluid |
i swapped over all of my fluids to redline.. it was recomended to me from tuning tech...couldnt be happier
Jesse did you put Redline in the tranny , what weight? And will it help with smoothing the gears out a bit
ahahahahahaha... didnt even realize it was you alex.. haha.... i cant remember exactly.. ill find out and let you know asap!
dude, if you've got Diff fluid in your tranny, you need to flush that **** out ASAP and put the right stuff in there before you seriously damage your transmission. i wouldn't be driving around like that until i got it fixed.
ok... it was redline MT-90 for t-case and diffs....and redline 75w90 in the tranny.... and i cant say it really smoothed much out for me... i did it with like 15k miles on the car... but i hear on higher mileage cars, it helps alot with that

Read the thread again before you asume things. I clearly stated that I know both fluids are diffrent and I KNOW that i cant use the same fluid for every drivetrain related part. The one we need to correct is that Mech at the dealer! Jesse I will check it out tomorrow {thumbup} |
i use pennzoil synchromesh for my tranny and diaqueen for my tcase and rear diff.
