dash light was set to come on at 2 counts of knock, and it NEVER came on in the last year I drove the car this way!
No signs of detonation on the piston or head
no noise, no warning of any kind; #3 wristpin just pulled out the bottom of the piston
The piston top is intact and isn't seized in the bore

Luckily, the head is still good, with just 4 bent valves.

2.4 block is in the works.

The block was just an opportunity to upgrade!

What really hurt was the rod punching a hole through the transfer case housing!

Seriously; the best guess at this point is a casting flaw in the piston!

Looks just like my stock block did, and I was just cruising down the highway when everything let loose.

my buddy has a 2.5l evo he is willing to part with :) has a magnus crank i beleive a few other goodies. boost comes on decel lol
