One wheel on air and the other 3 don't move
 

Hello,
I own a Mitsubishi EVO VIII 2003. My car doesn't have ACD or AYC. It has VCU. My house driveway has some inclination and sometimes, depending on the angle in which I try to enter the driveway, one of my back wheels lifts from the ground and the other three remain completely on the ground. Every time this happens only the wheel that is on the air spins while the other 3 that remain on the ground don't move at all.
Can someone tell me if this is normal or not please. If not, can someone tell me the solution to fix the problem. Thank you for your time.

So, do you just stop moving when this happens? If you continue to move forward while tripodding, I wouldn't worry too much about it; however, if you still feel this is an issue, take the car to a mechanic or dealership to check it out.

its normal. My driveway is the same way. Every single awd car that I own does the same thing. Talons and evos.

Try it with the emergency brake on a little.

Only the wheel on the air spins. The other 3 wheels don't move at all. A friend told me that maybe my rear differential is not working. I'll check on that. Thanks for your help.

The reason I said to try it with the emergency brake on a little is that the type of limited slip rear differential these cars have requires some torque to lock. I used to drive a Trans Am with the same type of rear differential and I always had to apply the emergency brake to get moving in the snow.
