My Build Thread

So this is another build thread for anyone interested. I purchased this car from another member on the forum with a bad motor and clutch.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sale-cars-sale/489272-04-evo-8-2-4l-twin-scroll-ets4088r-fully-built-heavily-modded-tx.html At the same time we removed the power train I decided to do some upgrades. As the car sits not the engine is back from the machine shop and being put together at TRF. Here are some before pics I'll post some more recent photos soon. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...n-7dbed64e.jpg https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...n-adca9d84.jpg https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...n-385b358f.jpg https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...cation-074.jpg |
I've actually seen your car in person when I went to Thomson, Ryan does great work.
Good luck with the build, the new color looks great! |

I decided to paint the car orange (it looks good on bikes maybe an evo). So with the engine out we did the engine bay. Here is a couple pics of the car motor out bay painted. At this point we also decided to tackle an ABS removal using a the base lancer master cylinder. If the bias split point leads to rear wheel lockup I will switch it out with the RS one. I figured its at least worth a try.

I think the red and orange will blend a little too much and make the engine bay very monotone. I would have gone with darker colors to contrast to the engine bay. That header looks very nice! Ceramic coating is awesome and helps control underhood temps.

I know I feel the same way. I wanted to paint the car dark blue or green, so I went with the red (somewhat match the brakes) and then I saw this orange on a Chevy avalanche and I really wanted it. I don't think it will look bad, but it will not stand out very well. |

I'm glad Ryan is working on it he has tons of experience. I've been working on cars for a long time and he is by far the best fabricator and mechanic I've ever had work on anything I own. |
