JohnBradley's 2011 car update.

Well the 2.4 and 3586 have been alot of fun for the last 2 years on the turbo kit and the last year on the 2.4 liter long rod. It made 794whp at 38psi on E85 from the pump, 648 on 92 octane with no additives.

I tell our customers it seems cars get slow after 30 days and I havent been wrong for awhile. It has taken me a year to get used to it but I have decided that the car no longer feels fast in its daily trim. 15,000 miles at 30-32psi (750whp on the aeroturbine, 715 on the Magnaflow) has treated me well so far but I had to do something.

Quick refresher on the build so far-

ER LR2.4 9:1 compression
Jeff "Bushmaster" Bush ported IX head
Stock size Supertech valves (nitrided/inconel)
Magnus cast intake manifold
GSC 156mm H beam connecting rods
GSC custom 12mm camshafts
ETS 4" intercooler kit
ETS 3.5" exhaust with Magnaflow 3.5" muffler
ETS 3586 single scroll kit with .82 A/r T3
FIC 2150cc injectors
Magnafuel Protuner 625 fuel pump -6 feed
Aeromotive rail, regulator, and pump controller
E85 from the pump, not mixed
SD with Omnipower 4 bar
Cometic .051" HG
L19 headtuds
ACL bearings

and this on gas-

So now its time to step it up-

FP 3794, modify the existing O2 housing and WG a bit and see what it will do :)

Going to add our new boost actuated dump tomorrow and hopefully be on the dyno (on E85) by Friday. Not sure if I am going for any records, just want over 800 this time on the dyno  Eventually it will all come back apart for phase 3 and some powdercoating but I am going to enjoy it for the summer this way.

If I manage to get it tuned on thursday (not looking likely because of work load) you might even be able to get a ride ;)

As close as we can get it. The 3794 is also an .82 a/r T3 the only difference being that it has a 3" V band outlet. I need to thank Miguel for the extreme hookup on the turbo btw :) This is as close to back to back as I can get it. The only changes are the turbo and muffler setup vs my July 5th dyno which had an aeroturbine so almost no backpressure vs the Magnaflow (Already showed it dropped power) and the cutout to get the power back.

Wheatley Mar 30, 2011 07:47 PM

Good stuff!!

JohnBradley Mar 30, 2011 07:48 PM

The last one went a year, I have a feeling this will go 2 years or until death whichever should happen first.

{thumbup} well lets hope 2 years LOL

Wheatley Mar 30, 2011 07:53 PM

Above 700hp they dont feel slow, just not as fast lol.

1low10n22s Mar 30, 2011 08:08 PM

what radiator will you be running with the 37?

JohnBradley Mar 30, 2011 08:14 PM

Still going to use the stock radiator. Never had an issue with it overheating, it seems to cool better than 90% of whats on the market, never had a HG issue so its still cherry. Best part is its maximum room available in the engine bay.
