EVO IX engine making noise

My car is making a noise like lifters or rods but everything looks ok

the lifters are new (124miles) and the rods bearing like this:

timing belt kit changed(250miles) oem parts

without serpentine belt the noise is still there

any ideas?

thanks

New lifters make even more noise if not bled correctly.

PauloPinho Jun 28, 2015 09:52 PM

but de noise its exactly the same after changed lifters

PauloPinho Jun 28, 2015 10:05 PM

is it possible the noise is maked by timing belt tensioner arm?

I have never seen the tensioner making that noise. Sounds to me it's coming from the head. I suggest taking the VC off and go over the lash adjusters one by one.

the lash adjusters are new and i controled when i put them at their place

no

I always the noise

Bleed the lifters using the diesel fuel method outlined in the manual. It fixed my problem.

the lifters are new

tested without oil cap

Doesn't matter if you didn't bleed them...

PauloPinho Oct 8, 2015 11:13 AM

but without oil cap the noise doesn't change

Project_Broke Oct 9, 2015 10:16 AM

Use a long screwdriver or a stethoscope and pin point the noise.

PauloPinho Oct 9, 2015 11:05 AM

already done

with a stethoscop the noise comes either turbo or downpipe, before turbo no noise
